Providing excellent patient care is Dr. Melissa Moutray’s top priority. From early on, she has understood the importance of putting patients at ease during their time with her. This is why she is empathetic to each patient and believes in the importance of answering your questions, explaining the process, and easing any nerves you may have.
Dr. Moutray grew up in North Dakota but has called Lincoln home since she attended Union College for her undergraduate degree. She then attended University of Nebraska College of Dentistry before attending medical school at University of Nebraska Medical Center.
There, she completed a 6-year oral surgery residency where her love for oral surgery grew even more. Dr. Moutray has been a Diplomate on the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons as well as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons. Her clinical interests are wisdom teeth, dental implants, bone grafting, and pathology.
With over 8 years in the field, three children of her own, and a loving husband – she is eager to return to the community she calls home. Dr. Moutray is excited to bring her passion for oral surgery to each patient she sees in the Lincoln community.

This is when she knew she wanted to be an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon, performing a wide variety of surgeries to help patients. One of these surgeries includes replacing missing teeth with dental implants helping patients to chew again! Also, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons can help patients get out of pain when they have an infected or broken tooth and remove wisdom teeth before they cause problems.
Dr. Moutray has lived in the Midwest her entire life and calls Nebraska home since she lived in Omaha and Lincoln. She attended the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) for Dental School, Medical School and her Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Residency.
